Storytelling in UX

Quote 1 : Perspective

“No, the elephant is like a spear.”

I liked this part of the story, a great example of perspective. When we can't physically see the whole picture or figure, our take away is very limited though we might never know how limited.

Quote 2 : Foreshadow

“She drives like her 80-year-old grandmother, but sprints through stores.”

This quote was very funny to me because I have friends like this. Taking life very slow in certain aspects and speeding through life in other aspects. It's a great characteristic to be careful and take things slow but do we gain any time back or anything back if we rush through one event just to take it slow in the next event. Well, I guess in life its good to (example) work fast so we can live comfortably slow later.

Quote 3 : Context

“What if you could see the person you’re talking to on the phone?”

Wouldn’t that be something? I wonder if half of the conversations we have would be the way they are if we could see the other person on the phone. Compared to Zoom calls for example people are quieter at times but if no one was watching each other  it could be a different conversation. \wxgewou

What made sense

I can't say I found anything that didn’t make sense to me but what surprised me was this part about characters if in the first 10 minutes of a movie the main character says, "I hate dishonesty. I'll always tell you the truth," it's a safe bet that by the end of the movie that character will either lie or be heavily conflicted about the virtues of the truth or the occasional inconveniences of telling the truth.

I guess I hadn't noticed that but now thinking back to some movies, funny enough even some boyfriends that have said this, they all tur out to be big liars themselves.

I agree with the fact that a good story is like good soup, it's not soup if you only have water. A good story consists of different tools taht makes it good. Tools like, Perspective, Characters, Context, Imagery, and Language.
