What If?
What if I woke up one day like my father when he was young?
What if all our lives are different movies with an audience out there watching, and every time our lives change it becomes a different genre.
What if the theory in the movie "Leave the world behind", where earth's Electro Magnetic Pulse was disabled came to life tomorrow?
What if the earth's Electro Magnetic Pulse was disabled tomorrow and we immediately lost all communication and connection with each other?
What if you woke up tomorrow the sun in the sky normal as usual? Use stretch and get out of bed thinking the day is gonna go as it normally does on a Friday morning. You try to turn on the lights. Quickly realize there’s a power outage as a check all your other lights and they also not turning on. You then go to grab your phone to check Twitter see if there is any news about power outage. You also realize that your phone has no cell service. You become frustrated and head outside to see if you can get any cell service and ask if your other neighbours are also experiencing what you are experiencing. Let’s say you live in an apartment complex, and before you open your door you hear people talking outside so you hurry to open the door. See what your neighbors have to say as you open you see people with their hands on their heads, baring confused facial expressions. You ask them if they also don’t have any power at home they all turn simultaneously to answer yes, the inform you that their phones are also not working. You decide to walk out of the complex and go see if at least the rest of the people outside are not having the same experience. As you look out on the road, you see that their cars driving and in the cars people are looking confused, but they’re still heading to work or wherever they are heading. As the cars come to a stop, you decide to ask a driver if they know about the power outage that you are experiencing in the cell phone service outage, the driver replies and says yes “this feels like a situation from that movie, he says” you agree and move away from the car feeling very confused and frustrated because you don’t know what’s going on and what you should do in this situation. Since you live by a close police station you decide to go for a walk to the police station and ask them what’s going on and if they have any out of advice on what people should do. As you get close, you realize there’s a long line of people shouting in confusion and frustration. You see a few policemen telling the people to calm down that everything will be okay. You realize it won’t be too much of any help to stand in the line with these people so you head back home.
You feel very confused whether to drive straight to work or to stop by grocery store to buy some things in case this power outage continues to go on, but you’re running out of time work starts soon and you don’t have service to call your work and inform them of the Unfortunate situation. You’re going through this morning. You decide to drive to work in inform your boss of what’s going on and then drive to the grocery store and get some things just to be safe as you get to work you realize there’s no one there. The office is empty. It’s just you Again you cannot call anyone so you just go back to the garage and drive to the grocery store just to find a large number of people heading into the grocery store. You drive to another grocery store that you think might have a lesser line.
Are you getting to the store and you realize most things are starting to get sold out some people are arguing bickering you stay focused and you go grab some water. You grab a few things some kind food that you can grab then you head to the line wrapping around the isles you stay calm and you start thinking of what you need what you should do the following days, you go home and in your kitchen, the floor is soaked. The freezer is melting and everything is getting soaked. You decide to cook the steak that you had forgotten about. You decided to make the best out of this. You lock your door and pray that your parents are OK. You cook the things that would go bad using your camping stove and some charcoal, you remember that you still have one of your old MP3’s that used to have a radio on it. You try finding it but you can’t find it and that the chaos breaks out outside your door. You keep your door shut, as the day ends you light your candles and hope for a better tomorrow.
